The Beijing Improv Interactive Arts Festival brings together Beijing's top local and international artists to create pieces inspired entirely by your suggestions! The festival consists of two days of workshops and performances and promises to be the most enjoyable, hilarious and spontaneous weekend of the year.Featuring shows and workshops in photography, dance, poetry, theatre, music, mask making and fashion design, and the talent of Beijing Improv, LDTX, Swing BJ, Cheeky Monkey, People's Republic of Improv, ImproPekin, Lei Gong Photography, Natook Jugglers, Brandnu fashion and many more!
In Chinese and English.
30RMB Day Pass includes all shows and workshops for a day with an additional charge will apply for those who wish to attend the BJI Evening Performances. No reservations will be taken for any show or workshop throughout the weekend, instead it will be a turn up and participate event.
NOTE: The BJI Mainstage Players will not be taking reservations for the evening shows in which they will be performing. Tickets will instead be issued to the first 200 people to attend each day of the festival.

Beijing Improv
北京即兴话剧组
Founded over three years ago, Beijing Improv is China's leading improvisation theater group producing acclaimed English language shows, bilingual workshops and bilingual Improv performances. Re-interpreting life in the ever-changing Beijing through spontaneous and humorous stories and scene-work, Beijing Improv is an all-volunteer organization that donates all proceeds of its events to community NGOs. Beijing Improv shows and workshops are consistently sold-out and thousands of people from countless parts of the world have taken part since they established themselves in Beijing. Life is better when improvised.
北京即兴话剧组创始于三年前，是中国即兴戏剧组织的先锋团队。这个团队不仅推出令公众推崇的英文表演还定期为公众做双语工作坊课程并组织双语即兴表演。通过即兴表演的方式，他们将发生在日新月异的北京的生活故事再现到随性而幽默横生的短幕式剧情中。北京即兴话剧组是一个非盈利性组织，所有成员的表演都是义务的，表演收入都捐助给NGO组织。北京即兴话剧的表演和工作坊场场观众爆满，成千上万来自世界各地的朋友来到北京以后都参与过他们的活动。让即兴给生活添加色彩！
Beijing Improv Mainstage English Players
北京即兴话剧组英文即兴表演组
Sold out for the past 24 months and consistently praised as the city's most entertaining English language comedy theater, the Mainstage English Players produce monthly full-length improv shows. An audition-only group, current Mainstage members come from 8 different countries and many have played improv together for years.
在过去的两年多连续24场表演场场售票一空，北京即兴话剧组为这个城市献出的每月一次两小时即兴话剧表演被评为北京最具娱乐性的英文喜剧。所有组织成员必须通过试演才能加入其中，目前的主要演员来自8个不同国家，他们中不少成员已经在一起共同合作了多年
For Sat Show: The group will be divided into two teams who will perform dueling scenes based on the audience suggestions and compete with the audience voting which scene is the best. Which team will reign supreme at the Improv festival? Come and help decide....!
周六剧式：所有演员将分为两组，分别给出基于观众建议的表演。两组会各自使出浑身解数PK谁的表演更好，当然到底谁更好要由台下观众说了算！你想知道到底哪一组会赢得观众的宠爱吗？来投上你的一票吧！
For Sun Show: Our show today will take audience suggestions to play our most popular improv games in a Short-form free-for-all format.
周日剧式：周六的表演将包括观众最喜爱的即兴小短剧，所有短剧都将基于观众的各种建议给出。剧式短小精悍，灵活多样。
The Harold
A special presentation of the long-form improv, The Harold. Based on a single suggestion, three scenes will weave themselves together in exciting and unexpected ways in this 45 minute improv show. Featuring players from Beijing Improv's mainstage English and BIG group.这是一场对加长版即兴话剧表演的特别演绎。演员们将基于来自于观众的某一建议做出一场三幕剧。这三幕剧之间彼此穿插交融，45分钟出人意料的表演会不时点燃观众的激情，爆笑全场。演出由北京即兴话剧组英文组成员及双语表演组成员联袂呈献。

Ever wanted to tread the boards without a script? Our popular Wednesday night workshop gets a festival makeover with a crash course in basic improv theater skills. From voice and movement to character and narration, you will be put through your paces by experienced members of Beijing Improv. You will also have the chance to try your hand at some of your favorite Beijing Improv stage games. Expect the unexpected!

Etching & Printmaking
Tamara Palmer: WAB Art Teacher In this workshop you will learn a layman form of etching/printmaking. You will use etching tools, plexiglass, inks, and a printing press to create your prints. We will create work from our host country environment. You don't have to be an artist to create great work!在这个演示课中你将学到制作蚀刻/版画的初级技能。你将学着使用蚀刻工具、有机玻璃、油墨，最后还可以用印制机制作出你的画作。我们将一起创造出一些具有中国特色的作品。来参加我们的演示课，你不需要是一个艺术家但也能创造出很棒的艺术品！
Mov'n & Grov'n Mural.
Stacy Shine: The Hutong In this music people will move & groove to music, once the music stops and you freeze other people will use recycled paper to twist the shapes of the movers and stick these onto the mural. Then swap the moovers and groovers for the twisters & shakers.音乐响起时，大家随着音乐的节拍随便舞动，一旦音乐停下来大家也要立即停止舞动，并定格自己在那一时刻的动作。这时会有其他人用环保纸张来改变大家的动作并把它们转换成新的动作。然后双方角色交换。
Backlit Productions Dance Workshop
Rosey Feltham Rosey Feltham is a contemporary dance artist from New Zealand who co-directs BackLit Productions, a dance company that devises inventive and socially-relevant performances. This workshop will involve guided improvisation, fusing objects, images, words and music with your body to create inspiring and thought-provoking results. Please bring with you to the workshop an unpurposed object from your home. No previous dance experience required.ChenFei Masks

Nathan Zhang Brandnü (Wudaoying charity shop) : Nathan Zhang has teamed up with Laura Tinley, costume designer, both who have the same passion in fashion and love to create new style from second hand clothes. Their label "W+E" (West+East) promotes the "Reduce, Recycle and Reuse" concept to the Beijinger. The public are invited to take part in creating some pieces from second hand clothes on site, so bring your creative thoughts and skillful hands to the festival. The pieces will culminate in a fashion show and in BJI Mainstage Players Saturday Night Show. Signup on the day to be a model for the fashion show too!Brandnü 北京第一家以经营慈善组织生产的工艺品公益店创办人祥子和Laura Tinley（来自苏格兰的戏剧服装设计师）因为对时尚的喜爱和对环保的关注将合作共同在Beijing Improv节日采用二手服装进行时尚改造。她们将计划推出自己的品牌“W+E”（西方+东方）来宣传“减少，环保和再利用”的概念。她们将邀请参加此活动的客人一起创意并加工成新的时尚。希望您们能参与！而且当天的创意时尚将以时装秀的形式进行展示并且用来当天晚上戏剧表演的服装。如果有意愿成为当晚时装秀的模特，请及时登记。谢谢！
